Interest in Music Production in today’s society seems to be growing stronger by the day. With the leaving cert almost out of the way we’ve decided to compile a small list for those who are interested in pursuing music in college.
DFEI – Music Production
This course is based out in Dun Laoghaire and is two years long. At the end of the course you receive a Higher National Diploma (HND). Some modules you study in year one are Music in Context, Music Notation, Principles of Musical Sound and many more. Check out the course here.
BIFE – Music Production
This course is lectured in Bray and lasts two years. At the end of the course you receive a HND , it is a lot similar to DFEI’s course. Some modules you study in year one are Creative Research Skills, Live sound for small venues, Music Technology and many more. Check out the course in full here.
Cavan Institute – Music and Sound Production
Based in Cavan this course also lasts two years. After year one you receive a level 5 in Music and Sound Production and once you finish the two years you receive a level 6. Some modules you study are Music Studio Production, Critical Music Listening and many more. Check out the course here.
BCFE – Music Production
This course is a lot like the Music Production courses in DFEI and Bray but it’s based in Ballyfermot. It lasts two years and you receive a HND. Some modules you study are Music, Health and the Law, Music in Context and many more. Check out the course here.
BIFE – DJ Techniques & Music Production
This is the only course in Ireland that teaches DJ techniques. Whether you’re a complete beginner or someone who wants to learn about music production this course is right for you. It is a level 5 and only lasts one year. Check out the course here.
