Laurent Garnier receives France’s highest award
Laurent Garnier is one of French’s best exports when it comes to electronic music and the government has come to realise that awarding him the Legion of Honor.
Garnier took to Facebook to write about his award and said: “I am deeply touched to receive the France’s highest decoration for having served and defended music which, originally, underwent so many prejudices and caused so much misunderstanding. For me, this is not only recognition of a 30 year musical career, but also for a collective history.”
Garnier has been the mind behind some great techno tracks like ‘Crispy Bacon’, ‘The Man With The Red Face’, ‘Acid Eiffel’ and many more. He also helped established the French record label ‘F Communications’.
