Only two days to go until you are sitting in a field in Mullingar drinking with your mates. Who are you looking forward to see the most? If you’re still unsure, and you love house & disco, we’ve got you sorted! Check out our top ten house & disco acts to see at Life Festival this weekend below. Also, check out our techno list here.
10. Format: B – Main Stage – Friday 23.50
Formatik Records bosses Franciskus Sell and Jacob Hildenbrand aka Format: B are known for their huge 2015 hit, ‘Chunky’. On the back of another big hitter, ‘Okeey Yaaah’ in 2016, these guys are looking at another big year.
9. Get Down Edits – Main Stage – Sunday 19.30
Hailing from Waterford City, Darren Dalton & Martin Roche aka Get Down Edits have been playing clubs for almost two decades. Known for their edits of old disco tracks, they’ve received support from acts like Kenny Dope and Fish Go Deep.
8. Boots & Kats – Toast Stage – Friday/Saturday 5.00/4.00
Everyone remembers the viral video of these guys playing at the Toast stage last year, and they’re back again this year, closing things out on the Saturday. Expect house, disco and everything in between.
7. Kaily – Main Stage – Saturday 18.30
Strictly Deep head honcho Kaily is not only a DJ but a label owner and promoter. On the back of his main stage set last year, he is set to play alongside big dogs like Maya Jane Coles and Solardo this year.
6. Long Island Sound – Toast Stage – Friday 20.00
Timmy Nolan and Rob Roche have had an extremely successful 2016, having sold out their very first release on vinyl via ‘Kyoku’ and they aren’t stopping there.
5. DJ Deece – Main Stage – Saturday 15.00
One of Dublin’s biggest local DJs, even though he’s from Newbridge (haha). Deece has held down a residency at Hidden Agenda alongside running his very own ‘Deece Series’. Last year saw him go back to back with Jackmaster, which he thought would be hard to top, but this year at Life Festival he plays after the legend that is Ricardo Villalobos.
4. Jimmy Rouge (Orange Tree Edits) – Toast Stage – Saturday 21.30
If you’re an avid reader of Four Four you will be well aware of Orange Tree Edits and how they’ve sold out every release they’ve put out, including the big Jimmy Rouge edit. You’d be mad to miss this guy smashing out his disco and house back catalogue.
3. Bobby Analogue – Toast Stage – Friday 1.00
One of the leading forces from Belfast, Bobby Analogue played one of our favourite sets at Higher Vision Festival earlier in the year and we expect the very same at Life. No pressure Bobby!
2. Eats Everything – District 8 Stage – Friday 21.00
No words needed. Eats Everything is one of the biggest DJs on the planet and he makes his highly anticipated return to the festival since his debut in 2015.
1. Bobofunk – Toast Stage – Saturday 23.30
One of the most talented DJs in Ireland, Bobofunk has been around the block and back. He is most known for being able to switch up genres extremely easy. Last year he played twice at the festival and he’s doing the same this year, so if you miss him once, do not miss him a second time.
