The BBC Radio One Essential Mix series is one of those legendary things in dance music that somewhat acts as an invisible stamp of legitimacy on any artist that is lucky enough to be asked to contribute to it.

After recently having some of the new waves’ biggest stars in Mall Grab and Peggy Gou showcase their talents, next up is arguably the biggest star of the lot in Glaswegian Denis Sulta. Mark this Saturday down in your calendar to tune into the British station.

Himself and the Essential Mix’s legendary Pete Tong are well known to be good friends, so it comes as a bit of a surprise that an appearance from the ‘Nein Fortiate’ producer took this long, however we still can’t wait.

After coming under fire for some of his selections of late, it will be great to see what the lively DJ and producer has up his sleeve for arguably one of the biggest platforms in electronic music at the moment.

Sulta is just coming off the back of his third EP on his own Sulta Selects label, which featured the highly anticipated ‘DKY’ track that had been floating around online for over a year after he had teased it relentlessly through the majority of his sets.

Not only that, but his debut festival ‘Fly Open Air’ is only around the corner, meaning that the Essential Mix is coming at the perfect time for the Dixon Avenue Basement Jams DJ, with not only his own festival taking note, but the whole host of others that he’s due to play at too paying close attention to what the Scot has to offer.
