Niall D’Arcy AKA DJ Deece has had what could only be described as a monumental year, with the growth of his DJ career proving hard to keep up with as he played huge festival and club sets, one after another.

Facebook posts from the Newbridge native with the words ‘my biggest to date’ included have been a regular occurrence throughout 2017, and rightly so. The year saw Deece take on Boiler Room for the first time ever at AVA Festival in Belfast, as well as going on to host a stage in the woods at Electric Picnic.

Deece’s 2017 also saw stand-out performances at the likes of Higher Vision Festival, Life Festival, Forbidden Fruit and Metropolis Festival, not to mention tomorrow which will see his biggest clubshow to date as he plays a 6-hour set in District 8 to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

To coincide with DJ Deece’s headline show tomorrow, he’s walked us through what he considers his 10 favourite tracks that he played out this year, and there’s plenty of big ones. We’ve handed things over to him below.

In no particular order, here’s 10 tunes from 2017 that I really enjoyed playing in the club.
Nice one for having me 🙂

John Heckle – JV Ride

This one came out fairly late in the year, but I’ve been playing it every chance I get. Raw, piano house belter on one of the most consistent labels around, Super Rhythm Trax.

Tanera – What Happened

I’m gonna put both tracks from this record on the list because it’s my fave club record of the year. Bit of a secret weapon, but I keep getting asked for the ID when I play it so here ya go!

Tanera – Magic Underwear

The other track from the Tanera record. I can’t stop playing this track. Those rolling snares create such a buzz, and the vocal is perfect.

Avalon Emerson – One More Fluorescent Rush

It’s been a very good year for Avalon Emerson, this being the standout moment from her in my opinion. This tune has been responsible for some serious “yeeeooowwww” action in the last few months!

Orange Tree Edits – Yeah Yeah (Jimmy Rouge Edit)

This label has been one of the highlights of 2017 for me. So good to see quality music from Ireland getting international recognition. Afro acid to get you moving!

Passarani – Quarto

Dance floor fire from one half of Tiger & Woods. He goes a bit heavier on his solo stuff, and this is so good. Builds for days without getting boring. Great club tune!

Nathan Fake feat. Purient – DEGREELESSNESS (Overmono Remix)

Had to put this one in. One of the tunes of the year. Super clever and hard hitting stuff from the Overmono boys!

Radio Slave – Feel The Same (Floorplan Remix 2)

Heard John Daly play this before me at the rave in the woods at EP and near lost my mind. Peak time house belter, with that signature Floorplan sound.

Kink – Perth

Very obvious, but very good! Another one I’ve been playing as often as possible this year. Hands in the air, tops off. Let’s have it!

Marvin & Guy – The Train of Fantastic

12 minutes long and worth every second of your time. It’s hard to play all 12 minutes of this in the club, but when the time is right and it works, it is magic. A highlight tune of 2017 for sure. Enjoy!
