Carrick-on-Shannon-based, community-driven DJ collective TILT is bringing young DJs together to learn the craft and build connections across the West of Ireland.

The initiative is part of a wider effort to nurture local talent, create cultural opportunities, and strengthen the music community in County Leitrim.

Starting 6 August, TILT will host six free Wednesday workshops from 6–8pm, offering participants hands-on experience in a professional environment with full lighting and sound. Guided by Harry Bouchier (aka Elliot) and other industry professionals, attendees will develop set lists and prepare for live performance on Culture Night 2025.

The workshops are open to everyone aged 14+, at any stage of their DJ journey. Participants will learn technical skills such as music analysis, track formatting, and performance preparation, while also fostering collaboration, creativity, and confidence.

Harry Bouchier has been a central figure in Ireland’s electronic music scene for six years, performing at national festivals and releasing music internationally. Through TILT, he is using his experience to support young people in building skills, expanding opportunities, and contributing to the local cultural landscape.

The workshops go beyond music. By mentoring young DJs and encouraging participation, TILT strengthens community ties, provides creative outlets, and creates pathways for cultural engagement. Participants gain technical expertise and the confidence to contribute meaningfully to Ireland’s club and arts communities.

Supported by the Young Curators Programme and the Arts Council of Ireland, TILT demonstrates how music education can drive cultural participation, nurture local talent, and create lasting social impact.
