Kicking off the start of June with an incredible weekend consisting of some huge artists playing across all different venues in our fair city. With Forbidden Fruit playing a big part in these parties, It’s still a clear indication of how strong our city is musically and the power we have within it. Here are our top picks.
Friday 2nd
BOOTS & KATS AT HANGAR
Just off the back of Life Festival, Boots & Kats have no doubt taken over the internet with a couple of videos from their sets across the weekend. They take to Hangar for a reunion and give the chance for anyone who missed Life to experience what they have to offer, with their party/house music infused sets.
Saturday 3rd
MALLGRAB & 67 AT THE GRAND SOCIAL
Mallgrab has become one of the top emerging artists of last year and is swiftly becoming one of the firm favourites of Dublin. With his previous sell-out show at Button Factory, we expect similar scenes in The Grand Social this time round.
JOSH BUTLER AT HANGAR
One of the firm favourites of Dublin for the tech-house sound, Josh Butler puts on a standout show every time he plays in the city. Having a rich history of playing with the Strictly Deep brand and selling close to all of his shows, we expect nothing less from him this round.
Josh takes his powerful sound to Hangar for another loud and groovy show.
BOOKA SHADE AT BUTTON FACTORY
One of the iconic duos of electronic music, Booka Shade know for their atmospheric and hypnotising sets take their unique sound and aura to Button Factory. This will be something very special.
ORBITAL (DJ SET) AT TENGU
You may recognise Orbital as the two men that play with torches attached to their heads whilst producing some of the most forward-thinking styles of music live. They take to the intimate setting of Tengu for an official Forbidden Fruit afterparty.
Sunday 4th
ELI ESCOBAR AT HANGAR
One of the leading figures hailing from New York City, Eli Escobar returns to Dublin with unmatched raw sound. Touching on his previous visit to Dublin, it was a whole new fresh sound that the people of Dublin were not so familiar with, but ever since Eli has gained a huge reputation.
Eli takes his luscious house sounds to Hangar for a FREE party.
JEREMY UNDERGROUND AT INDEX
Jeremy Underground, a king of house music. Jeremy is affiliated with his thriving energetic sets consisting of old gems, cross-genre transitions and some of the latest material all in one. For anyone who hasn’t seen him, check out his Boiler Room with Kerri Chandler here to get a good idea of what he’s all about.
Jeremy takes to the still somewhat new venue to Dublin Index for a very special night.
CRAIG RICHARDS AT PYGMALION
Craig Richards is one of the main residents of the iconic club ‘fabric’ in London, in saying that, he has a great responsibility and a challenge to maintain an incredibly high standard of Djing for such an iconic brand.
He visits Pygmalion to show what he’s all about.
ALTERN 8 AT DISTRICT 8
When you think of the 90s era, Altern 8 is most definitely one to come to mind instantly. Altern 8 has been laying down trends since day one of his career and has a very strong history of playing within Ireland.
He takes his pace and classic infused sound to District 8.
DENIS SULTA AT WAHWAH CLUB
Following on the same thread as Mallgrab, Denis has been one of the stand-out figures to emerge in the past year. With his track ‘It’s Only Real’ reaching impeccable heights of fame from across the globe combined with his in-depth Djing skills, you can see why he’s gaining such a strong reputation.
