Paddy’s weekend is a celebratory weekend worldwide, but nowhere does it quite like we do, given the nature of the celebration itself. One thing that mightn’t be traditionally associated with St. Patrick’s day is dance music, but in recent years the weekend is synonymous with some of the biggest electronic music events in the country, especially in Dublin, so we’ve focused in on the capital to bring you every event in one place.


Paddy’s Eve with KETTAMA & Friends at The Grand Social (Friday)

Kick off your Paddy’s day celebrations a day early on March 16 with KETTAMA and a strong line up of some of the best homegrown DJs around Dublin and Ireland right now with house throughout the loft and rich disco in the ballroom.

Techno & Raves – Paddy’s Eve Special (Friday)

Hangar’s end is most definitely getting nearer and nearer but they are still maintaining a healthy flow of huge parties. With this Paddy’s weekend being their last one in existence, they’ve called upon a huge cast of regular contributors to their famous Friday night Techno & Cans residency for a huge blowout.

Detroit Swindle @ Pygmalion’s 9th birthday (Friday)

Their second album is complete and will be with us in May so this will be the perfect lead up to its release. That coupled with the fact that Pygmalion is celebrating its ninth year in existence will make this a memorable night. Read an interview with Detroit Swindle in this issue.

One of the biggest names in techno makes a stop in District 8 after his huge show at Mass festival last year in Tipperary. The Italian is known for his big room sounds and is perfectly suited to the grande settings of Dublin’s most well-known dance venue.

One of the true legends of electronic music makes his way to the entirely intimate surroundings of the Wah Wah Club basement on South William Street. The iconic producer has been a driving force across a number of different genres, from house to breakbeat and it’s a steal to see for such a cheap price.

Hingefinger X Jheri Tracks present Joy Orbison @ Wigwam (Sunday)

Dublin’s Jheri Tracks and Orbison’s own Hingefinger link up for an intimate showcase of the unique UK producer. There’s a high chance this will sell out, so we recommend getting your hands on tickets as soon as possible.

Da Funk – Live AV Pyramid Show @ Hangar (Sunday)

Ireland’s most entertaining Daft Punk tribute act ‘Da Funk’ are coming to Hangar’s warehouse for Paddy’s weekend March 18. They’re bringing a huge replica of the infamous pyramid stage and you can expect Daft Punk helmets, a live AV show and all the classics.

Disco legend Joey Negro is supported by a combination of Dublin’s own finest disco connoisseurs Karl Guest, George Feely and Shed Sessions residents for a pleasant end to a hectic weekend.

Mylo @ Wah Wah Club (Sunday)


The ‘Drop the Pressure’ producer is the second legend announced for Wah Wah’s basement on the big weekend and an act that has been well overdue a Dublin set. He is joined on the night by Marcus O’Laoire who will make for the icing on this particularly sweet cake.
