The third edition of Metropolis festival was already looking incredibly promising, having announced the likes of Richie Hawtin, Adam Beyer, Leftfield performing Leftism, Death In Vegas, Peggy Gou, FJAAK and Jeremy Undeground. Now, the POD festival has announced one of the leading lights in french electronic music and a massive favourite on Irish shores – none other than monsieur Laurent Garnier.

Making his first appearance in Dublin since 2014, Garnier will join the proceedings on October 28th & 29th at the RDS in the capitol’s south inner city. The ‘Man With The Red Face’¬†producer is a staple of any self respecting Irish festival, with his appearances at such events in Ireland dating back to the early 90’s. Check out what we believe to be the greatest Irish line-up of all time that Laurent was part of for Feile ’95 in Pairc Ui Chaoimh in Co. Cork (his name is bottom right).

The festival has always appealed to an incredibly discerning audience with acts ranging from Grace Jones to Mall Grab or Modeselektor to Vince Staples in recent years but with the aforementioned acts already in the bag, it’s clear that the team working on the festival are moving it in a more dance-floor ready direction which is something that excites us an awful lot at F/F HQ. In saying that, there’s certainly plenty for the non house or techno heads with TLC, Jungle and Irish heroine Bonzai also scheduled to perform.

You’ll also notice that Metropolis now takes place on the October Bank Holiday; a week earlier than previous years. This will delight thousands of revellers from all over Ireland that will want to make Metropolis their home for what is one of the biggest weekends of the year.

With the festival creeping up fast we’re sure there’s plenty more acts and announcements to be made, keep it locked on Four Four to be first to find out, join our FB group hear and never miss a beat!
