One of the pioneering figures in techno and arguably the most mysterious and enigmatic men in electronic music has been confirmed to make his return to Irish shores this September.

Jeff Mills has been confirmed and announced for Boxed Off Festival on September 30th at Fairyhouse Racecourse. Having already announced the likes of Hot Since 82, Nicole Moudaber, Enrico Sangiuliano, Detroit Swindle, Shdw & Obscure Shape, Ejeca and Baltra for the third edition of the festival, the announcement of a legendary figure like Jeff Mills will be welcomed by die hard techno fans and Mill’s fanatics all across the land.

A firm favourite and a bucket list box-tick for any self respecting electronic music fan, Mills’ has been doing damage in Ireland for well over two decades with his legendary 909 jams and and inimitable style. Whether it was in the Red Box/Tripod in the early/late 00’s, to the now legendary performances in the Twisted Pepper (see below) or his latest shows at the likes of District 8 in Dublin or Shine in Belfast, Mills’ has always attracted a cult like following with many regarding him as the best techno artist of all time.

‘The Wizard’ as he is affectionately known is no stranger to the Emerald Isle festival circuit with appearances at festivals like AVA (where he performed the brilliant¬†Close Encounters Of The Fourth Kind with Lighting Artist Guillaume Marmin), Life Festival and Metropolis.

This performance sees him make his Boxed Off festival debut which will set techno fans tongues wagging with the promoters having already announced a dedicated techno focused stage for the Fairyhouse Racecourse based festivals third edition.

It’ll come as no surprise that we’re massive fans of Mills’ work at Four/Four HQ, earlier this year we took a look Jeff Mills top 10 records of all time.
