Next up to the K7! DJ Kicks series is true techno giant Robert Hood. The new installment of the release is set to be released on CD, digital and LP format, with Hood offering us a 22 track mix with four of his own new exclusives set to arrive for our listening later this winter on November 16. Robert Hood is synonymous with techno and he’s hoping this mix will show exactly why.

Under the moniker Floorplan, of course, he delves into more funky house and techno, often with a gospel overtone that leads to rapturous dance floor receptions globally. But the techno he makes as Robert Hood is what he is best known for, and his mark on Detroit and globally has been left throughout his founding of Underground Resistance with fellow Motor City techno giants Jeff Mills and Mike Banks.

“The record was a return to the roots of his definitive Minimal Nation LP in 1994, and was filled with the sort of expert melodic loops, scintillating drums and hypnotic sense of repetition that only a few can master: making such simple yet effective music is a skill that Hood has made all his own.”
