Danilo Plessow, better known as Motor City Drum Ensemble is widely known for tactile and often erratic approach to DJing. The German selector has been at the forefront of the house and disco scene for a number of years now and his ability to connect with crowds and unite dance floors has led to him appearing before eager crowds at clubs and festivals worldwide.
Over the last few years, MCDE has become a fan favourite here in Ireland, playing sold out shows at the likes of The Twisted Pepper and District 8 as well as standout performances at Life Festival in 2015 and 2018. Some of his more notable appearances, however, were in the small confines of The Bernard Shaw (where he made his Irish debut) in 2009 and in 2016 (after a sell out show in District 8 the previous night). He’s been quoted as saying “Any time I’ve played in Dublin I’ve really, really enjoyed it. One Sunday in the Bernard Shaw was one of my favourite gigs ever.’’
It’s evident every time that he comes back to play here, that the love and admiration shown for him by Irish music fans is most definitely reciprocated and appreciated.
