London is getting a new 24 hour venue soon. FOLD will be opening in East London this month as a brand new addition to the Shapes Collective’s loop of venues.
The 24 hour venue will be above a print factory with very Berlin inspired policies including a ‘no photos on the dancefloor’ policy in the venue with a 600 person capacity, with another room due to open shortly after.
The venues cofounder Lasha Jorjoliani has said “expect extended set times, obscure back-to-backs and a generally more expansive pallet of sounds over the course of one event”.
In addition to the event rooms, the venue will host several studio spaces available for hire and will implement a membership scheme where members can have access to other Shapes Collective venues and studios too.
FOLDs first night is due to happen on August 18, with REVIVEHER, Make Me, Test Pressing, Dimensions and EarToGround all joining the owners for the grand opening night.
With our limited opening and licensing hours, we can only dream that something similar to this would come to Ireland. Hangar has been closed for a few months now and yesterday, we received this photo of the remains.
