Dublin’s legendary St. Patricks Day Parade has officially been cancelled following a meeting held between government officials.

The Parade had previously been at risk, however with the Covid-19 / Corona Virus taking a stronger hold in Ireland, the call has been made in order to prevent the further spread of the virus.

It was expected up to 500,000 people would visit Ireland for the celebrations, this decision is one that is made to protect people, however fears of the Virus spreading due to the influx of people expected to travel here for St.Patrick’s Day are still at large.

The parade is yet another event to be cancelled, following the Cork and Sligo Parades as well as dozen’s of local parades and celebrations.

*UPDATE*
It has now been confirmed all parades across Ireland are officially cancelled to prevent further spread of the disease.
