Sam GreenwoodWicklow label Remote Town Records recently formed in September of 2020, with the idea of releasing music exclusively by artists from the Wicklow and surrounding areas.
The label, based in the hills of Co. Wicklow itself, predominantly focuses on electronic music, but with an open ended ethos to style, with releases to come on a variety of mediums including digital, vinyl and cassette, with regular podcasts, mixtapes and some quality merch to be expected too.
Artists that have released on this exciting new label include Automatic Tasty, Damien Lynch, Patrick Kelleher & his Cold Dead Hands, with more to be announced. This is the second release from Damien Lynch for Remote Town and is out this Friday 23rd.
This is the second release of the EPW series from Damien Lynch. Whereas the first ep EPW-01 was more a love letter to his surroundings where he resides in the Wicklow countryside. EPW-02 is more of a misty eyed nostalgia and homage to the foothills of the Sugarloaf mountain where Damien Lynch grew up. A Soundtrack of a misspent youth, local beach parties and outdoor raves in the infamous Octagon ruins of the Glen of the Downs. Always with the Sugar Loaf mountain in view looking down in approval.
