After recently releasing a brand new controller, which you can read more about here, Pioneer are back with brand new innovation with a little more ease of access.

‘DJM-REC’ is a brand new app from the company that will allow DJs to record their mixes straight from any Pioneer mixer. Using a USB connector in the send/output port on the mixer, iOS devices will be able to record mixes straight to user’s Soundcloud or Dropbox accounts.

Check out a full review of the app from the Crossfader here.

The app is available for free from the app store for the next 30 days and from then on will be available to purchase for £9.99.

In order for the app to work with mixers their firmware must be updated, however the app is compatible with most Pioneer mixers; the DJM-TOUR1, DJM-900NXS2, DJM-750MK2 and DJM-450.

The app can detect fader movements and with time stamps included within the app too, it’ll make tracklisting entirely easier than any other recording method out there at the moment. That coupled with internal equalisers within the app will make the entire process very clean and will limit clipping on the actual recording itself.
