Belfast club, Thompons Gargage has received approval to expand its venue significantly. The venue will be outfitted with a new first-floor space, complete with a terrace and balcony, capable of accommodating approximately 120 people.

Endless Music Ltd has received approval from Belfast City Council to extend Thompsons Garage into Upper Arthur Street. Following the acquisition of the former solicitor’s offices at 51-53 Upper Arthur Street, the nightclub duo initiated the development plan.

The proposal also includes new public art and digital inside window display panels that will be viewable from the street. The expansion will increase its employment from 60 to 75 people.

Thompsons is one of Belfast’s longest-running nightclubs, having hosted a lengthy list of acclaimed performers such as Perc, Folamour, Steffi, Gerd Janson, Levon Vincent, Leon Vynehall, and many more.

The expansion will help to further establish the venue and make it one of Belfast’s premier club spaces. Belfast, like much of Ireland, has suffered from the decline of nightlife, and this injection will assist in boosting the late-night economy and culture.
