Tiësto is set to be the first in-game DJ in Super Bowl history, laying down his big-room sound for fans during breaks and warming them up for the game. It’s the first time a DJ has performed during the Super Bowl and marks a new chapter in DJ culture on the world’s biggest stage.
Tiësto is not the first DJ to perform during the pre-game warm-ups, other DJs have done so at the past five Super Bowls, including DJ Khaled and Zedd, but he will be the first to perform throughout the game.
“I’m excited to be a part of the Super Bowl LVIII! And it’s even more incredible that it’s in my favourite place — Las Vegas. Thank you to the NFL for having me. I cannot wait to party with you all at the big game!” – Tiësto.
From winning a Grammy to playing at the Olympics, these colossal achievements are becoming the norm for Tijs Michiel Verwest, better known as Tiësto. Dubbed the “King of Trance,” the Dutch DJ and producer’s roots can be found in the depths of Holland’s club culture. He quickly rose to become one of the world’s most successful DJs and has become a household name since.
