Record label/clubnight DSNT has been making waves as of late in the techno scene as they entered their fifth year of running events in Belfast. Lineups that could easily compete with the likes of Amsterdam and Berlin, consisting of multiple headliners make the brand stand out amongst others while also focusing on the visual aspect of everything they do. The importance of everything about DSNT being visually on point is portrayed throughout what they do, through graphic design when it comes to the artwork for their posters and other clubbing images, as well as insanely good visuals being present on the record sleeves for DSNT releases. Their events continue to display their love for the eye-pleasing side of things as they dress up Queen’s University Student Union with lighting rigs that make it a match for any club in the world.
The beginning of this year marked the fifth year of DSNT, and to celebrate the occasion some of the best acts in the scene were drafted in for their massive birthday party. LUMEN005 saw the likes of Bas Mooy, Ansome, DeFeKT and Myler on the bill.
To coincide with the milestone they’ve now released DSNT005 on their label. The release sees tracks from AnD as well as three Irish artists that are well known to our readers; Sunil Sharpe, Fran Hartnett and Eomac.
We’re delighted to be able to premiere the music video for Sunil Sharpe’s ‘Jamm 4’.
The video sees a very different approach to the typical techno video. The majority of the videos that we see at the moment are usually 7 minutes of stolen content that has been distorted to give it that ‘raw’ feel. DSNT’s videos see extremely imaginative and eccentric ideas put together that fully exhibit who they are and represent the artists adequately, as well as showing respect for the music through the sheer effort put into the footage.
