Shine are back with yet another groundbreaking lineup and this one could be one of their biggest to date.
The Belfast collective that showcased Denis Sulta, DJ Seinfeld and loads more on New Year’s Eve are now dipping their toes into dance music royalty and bringing over German legend Sven Vath.
This is the first time the music legend will have played in Belfast in eight years. His last appearance was a stop on his tenth annual world tour, which sold out. This year’s edition of Papa Sven’s world tour sees him joined by Ilario Alicante, a rising Drumcode and Cocoon Ibiza resident, who played the famed Telegraph Building rather recently too.
The show is taking place on Easter Monday, which is historically the biggest day in the Shine calendar.
Joining them on the bill is house star Mella Dee, who recently played in Dublin’s 39/40 for the launch of Reset, alongside Mark Broom and Space Dimension Controller. He has branched out from just his house sound to make darker tracks under his actual name Ryan Aitchison. Himself and Schmutz will be tasked with soundtracking the room 2 on the night, while Psycatron and Mikey Johnston will be on support duties in the main room.
This will be Vath’s 37th year of DJing and his 19th season of Cocoon in Ibiza.
Last year he played in the Wright Venue in what was a massive showcase with fire dancers and massive production.
This is just another in a long line of huge shows that Shine have been putting on over the past few months, with Dax J, Dave Clarke, DJ Bone, SHDW & Obscure shape all playing for them in December alone.
Their recent move to the Telegraph Building increases their huge scope even more, so with Sven already in tow, it’ll be very excited to see who they have lined up for the coming months.
