Sam GreenwoodRave Selekts label boss Tommy Holohan has just released the first full EP on the imprint’s sub-label, Bullet Tooth Trax. The EP, which is a six track offering from the man himself under his new Krescent alias is a more experimental move compared to his previous techno and rave releases and stretches from techno to jungle and everything in between.
The six track EP kicks off with a hauntingly atmospheric track and then swiftly gets underway in the shape of the booty bass anthem ‘Shake Ya Bodies’. Things then take a more serious turnwith the Four Four Premiered track ‘Transmission 3’; a poignant acid techno banger that lays down a marker as the collection continues to progress.
We then descend into utter chaos as a DJ Trans Orbital Gamma Wave remix spins us into the realms of jungle and then down the rabbit hole of rave hysteria with the final two tracks.
‘Gabbawaveoutsry V2’ and ‘GabberWaveout’ both add resounding exclamation marks to one of the most diverse EPs we’ve heard all year, let alone form Ireland.
Holohan has enjoyed a quiet few months in terms of production, but has still managed to maintain a healthy number of gigs thanks to his residency with Techno & Cans and bookings around the country.
This year promises to see much more releases on labels, as well as some big shows for the Dax J and Clouds-touted artist.
