Life Festival has come and gone another year. With the stage production and festival set up constantly improving as each year goes by, it’s no wonder why the beloved Irish festival has (again) left us wrote off. From locals standing out in the light to internationals delivering without fail we take a look at the top 5 sets from the weekend.
5. Jamie Behan
The main man from Cork absolutely destroyed the Index stage on Friday night. After a killing set from Paula Temple it was hard to see how Jamie could step up to the plate but he done it with ease. From ghetto house classics to out right industrial destruction Jamie brought it all.
After hearing the tragic news about Marcus Intalex, Goldie payed his respects with a surreal performance. With no lack of Intalex tunes and D’n’B classics, he made a ruin of the Concrete Jungle stage.
3. Nina Kraviz
After campsite rumours that she had cancelled it was a long wait to see if Nina Kraviz would show up. Fortunately for us she did show and destroyed the District 8 tent with no second thoughts and of course there was no lack of classics.
2. Sunil Sharpe
No matter how many times you see Sunil Sharpe in a year he’ll never fail to entertain you. One of the last of a dying breed of flawless vinyl mixing, all you can really do at a Sunil Sharpe set is sit back and enjoy.
1. Paula Temple
Headlining the first night of a festival can be a difficult task but not for Paula Temple. Two hours of her typically destructive techno at the Index stage was easily one of the best DJ sets we’ve ever witnessed.
