Life Festival preparation is in full motion, this weekend we’ll see over 100 acts over the space of three days. There is no lack of variety with the acts spacing from hardcore jungle to grime to stripped down raw techno.
Here we’ll take a look at the top 5 techno acts we recommend going to whilst you’re down there.
Anetha is a young French DJ who has quickly earned herself a well respected place in the scene. She has released on huge labels like Work Them Records, Blocaus Series and Reclaim Your City. Also holding a residency with Blocaus in Paris and playing some heavy sets in Berghain we don’t recommend missing her.
4. Jay Clarke
Jay Clarke has been upending fabric and Berghain recently with his sharp edged DJ sets. With releases on his own BLACKAXON and the legendary Klockworks, it will be interesting to see what way he takes his set. We can expect a big year from Jay in 2017. Stay on your feet for this one.
3. Sunil Sharpe
Our own homegrown hero Sunil Sharpe never fails bring the best records to the table. He’s one of the most well respected DJs around Europe for his unique style playing and outstanding track selection. After playing last year with Truss for three hours, we can expect the same high energy techno again this year.
2. Paula Temple
Paula Temple is one of the leading figures in industrial techno. In 2014 she released her killer track ‘Gegen’ which still is destroying dance-floors all around the world. She is well known for her releases on R&S and her own imprint Noise Manifesto. Expect no holding back from Paula.
Karl O’Connor a.k.a Regis is known as one of the leading innovators for British techno. Over the years we’ve seen him in duo’s such as British Murder Boys with Surgeon and Sandwell District with Function and O/V/R with James Ruskin. You can’t predict what you’ll be in for at a Regis set but you know it will be good.
