Electric Picnic is finally here!

The festival kicks off today at midday and hosts a massive lineup throughout the weekend. We’ve put a guide together for the people who are heading to Laois for the weekend looking for house, disco and techno. You can check it out below.

Friday

15:00-18:00 – Lui Rwego – Heineken Live Your Music Stage

16:00-18:00 – Mix & Fairbanks – Casa Bacardi Stage

If you arrive at Electric Picnic early and manage to have your tent up before 6pm you have a choice of Hip-hop with Lui Rwego or Disco with Kildare duo Mix & Fairbanks.  Both acts are playing for over two hours. Mix it up, explore the festival site.

18:00-20:00 – Get Down Edits – Casa Bacardi Stage

The Casa Bacardi Stage is looking like it will already be in full tilt by 6pm with Get Down Edits providing the best of disco edits until 8pm. Anyone who saw these lads at Life Festival will be all over this.

20:00-22:00 – Purple Disco Machine – Casa Bacardi Stage

21:00-21:30 – Jenny Greene and the RTE Concert Orchestra – Rankin’s Wood

By 8pm you are going to have to start making choices unfortunately. Purple Disco Machine will be providing house and disco at Casa Bacardi while Jenny Greene will be playing alongside the RTE Concert Orchestra supplying dance classics like you’ve never heard them before.

22:00-04:00 – GASH Collective – Anachronica ( The Woods )

GASH Collective kick off their stage takeover at Anachronica in the woods from 10pm with some of Ireland’s best female talent when it comes to techno, including ELLLL, Cáit, Lolz and Cailín playing until the early hours of Saturday morning.

22:00-00:00 – Mylo – Casa Bacardi Stage

Mylo is another huge artist that could be checked out at 10pm. With huge hits including ‘Drop The Pressure’ this will be seriously good fun.

23:00-00:00 – Bicep – Electric Arena

Probably the most highly anticipated act of the weekend for a lot of our readers, the Belfast are quickly gaining a legendary status in Ireland. They’re also just released their new album in full, and it’s fairly class. You’d have to be fairly mental to miss them play it live.

00:00-02:00 – The Magician – Heineken Live Your Music Stage

Another artist that needs little introduction, with huge hits like ‘Sunlight’, The Magician will be seriously good fun just after midnight.

02.30-03.45 – Neil Flynn – Body&Soul Earthship Stage

02:45-03:00 – New Jackson – Body&Soul Stage

From 2:30am onwards the Body&Soul area looks like the place to be with a host of homegrown talent. We’d recommend catching a bit of both Neil Flynn and New Jackson’s sets, both promising to be the perfect fit as the things start to get weird late in the night.

Saturday

13:30-15:00 – Dan Stritch – Casa Bacardi Stage

16.45-17.15 – Wastefellow – Little Big Tent

Early on Saturday, if you’re feeling up to it after the night before, you can catch Dubliner Dan Stritch kicking things off at Casa Bacardi with some house and disco. After Dan we’d recommend heading over to the Little Big Tent to catch Wastefellow’s live set. We promise that your hangover will disappear if you do.

20:00-22:00 – Hammer – Casa Bacardi Stage

21.30-22.30 – Floating Points – Rankin’ Woods

22:00-23:30 – Annie Mac – Electric Arena

22:00-00:00 – Jackmaster – Casa Bacardi Stage

22:00 – 23:15 – Mode_1 – Anachronica ( The Woods )

By 8pm you should definitely be ready to go once again.  Head back to Casa Bacardi to check out Feel My Bicep’s Hammer take the reigns. If you’re able to pull yourself away from there, musical genius Floating Points takes to the stage in Rankin’ Wood.  Annie Mac and Jackmaster are both set to start at 10pm. The best advice we can give is to flip a coin. It’s too hard to choose.  If techno is what you’re after Subject resident Mode_1 will be demolishing the rave in the woods from 10pm.

23:00-23.45 – Versatile – Little Big Tent

The talk of Dublin. Just go. You’ll have fun. We promise.

23:00-01:00 – Eve – Red Bull Soundome

23:15-00:30 – Long Island Sound – Anachronica ( The Woods )

00:00-02:00 – Steve Manning – Casa Bacardi Stage

More amazing local talent from 11pm as both Eve and Long Island Sound begin. Melodic house or disco, you decide. We’d definitely recommend heading to see Hidden Agenda’s Steve Manning closing things out after Jackmaster at Casa Bacardi.

00.00-01.55 – Pete Tong – Main Stage

BBC Radio 1 legend takes over the main stage at Midnight. This will be an extremely special occasion for all.

00:30 – 02:00 – Moduse – Anachronica ( The Woods )

02:00-04:00 – Sunil Sharpe – Anachronica ( The Woods )

If you’re ready for techno head to see ELLLL’s second set of the weekend at Body&Soul’s Earthship stage. Head over to District 8’s takeover of the woods after and catch Moduse followed by Irish techno legend Sunil Sharpe.

The talk of Life Festival Boots & Kats play a more normal time this time round as they get things going at Casa Bacardi from 3pm followed by Today FM’s Kelly Anne Byrne. All City Records’ Daire Carolan also plays the Red Bull Soundome from 4.30pm.

20:00-21:00 – Mano Le Tough – Rankin’s Wood

20:00-22:00 – Late Nite Tuff Guy – Casa Bacardi Stage

21:45-23:00 – DJ Yoda (Stranger Things, AV Show) – Heineken Live Your Music Stage

Does what it says on the tin. If you liked Stranger Things you should be very excited about this.

22:00-23:00 – Jonnie Foley – Anachronica ( The Woods )

22:00-00:00 – Krystal Klear –  Casa Bacardi Stage

Bedlam’s Jonnie Foley takes control of the Rave In The Woods from 10pm following a huge sunrise set at the Toast Stage at Life Festival. You’ll catch an hour of Krystal Klear’s set when he finishes if you run back to the Casa Bacardi stage.

23:00-00:00 – Sage – Anachronica ( The Woods )

23:00-02:00 – Bobofunk & Crego – Heineken Live Your Music Stage

02:00-04:00 – DJ Deece – Anachronica ( The Woods )

The Deece Series takeover of the Rave in the Woods is the place to finish off your weekend, but we’d strongly recommend not missing Bobofunk and Crego’s 3 hour set at the Heineken stage in the middle of it.
