Staff WriterIf we haven’t made it obvious already, Higher Vision takes place tomorrow. The festival boasts a seriously diverse house and techno line up with plenty of international and local names, with some even joining forces for B2B sets. Ireland’s electronic scene has skyrocketed recently, with Irish acts making waves on line ups at home and abroad. We’ve come to realise that supporting each other is all it takes, so here’s a list of some of our favourite local acts taking to the decks tomorrow that we can’t wait to see and believe you definitely shouldn’t miss.
Quinton Campbell
You’ve probably seen his name everywhere recently despite being active on the scene for some time now. Quinton really proved himself behind the decks recently at his Boiler Room set for AVA Festival, with an incredibly enjoyable and diverse set as one of Ireland’s most prominent emerging house producers. The set included everything from disco to house, and captured the crowd with plenty nostalgia ridden classics.
KETTAMA
KETTAMA’s well deserved rise to prominence kicked off with a humble weekly residency alongside Cóilí Collins under the moniker VSN collective in his hometown of Galway, and has since gone on to names as big as Mall Grab playing his tunes all over the world and a recent Mixmag premiere under his belt. His house bangers are impossible to shake off and just too good to miss, his set is definitely one to make sure to go to.
Tommy Holohan
Tommy Holohan is one of the most distinct producers emerging from Ireland after setting up his own label Rave Selekts, which played host to the cult-favoured track, Subaru Impreza, and getting support from industry heavyweights Dax J, Randomer, Mall Grab, Mixmag and many more. Tommy will be going B2B with Stranger during Higher Vision, and it’s definitely not a set to miss.
EVE
The all female Dublin DJ collective is made up of Jess Tillion, Lauren Kenny and Ivana Miculinic (Mitzi), all trying to make a difference for females in a male dominated industry. Their eclectic selection choices never disappoint, similarly to their energy on stage.
KT DAGG
Katie Dagg belts out house, disco and old school tunes, usually taking her spot behind the decks at The South William. She’s made her way onto plenty of festival line ups this summer and has supported the likes of Baltra and more during the year. Her upbeat and uplifting set is definitely one to catch this Saturday.
Maggie Rose B2B Sarah Mooney
Maggie and Sarah will be opening the main stage this Saturday, with their usual sets taking place at The South William and for collectives and nights all around Dublin as some of Dublin’s most consistent female DJs for a few years now. Their sets can vary from melodic house to heavy techno, and you’ll never be bored.
Adamant
Adamants productions make for the ultimate feel good music, and with the weather set to hit record highs this weekend, and with the sun not going anywhere any time soon, Adamant’s set isn’t one to miss. His upbeat and uplifting house and disco cuts and edits always make for an energetic show.
Adult Store B2B Karl Guest
Dublin regulars Adult Store and Karl Guest will be doing a B2B set on Saturday and we can’t wait. The lads always bring plenty of energy to their sets, and with forces joined, its bound to be even better. Expect plenty of house bangers and more.
Safehaus DJs B2B Codework
Safehaus brings the excitement of intimate genuine parties back to Dublin and since then further to places like Belfast and more. They celebrate all things house, disco and electronic and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for Saturday with Lee Um and Sean McKeon taking to the decks to represent the collective with the like minded folk from Codework going B2B with them.
George Feely
Local selector within Dublin’s electronic music circuit, George Feely dabbles in what’s usually funk orientated house music in many of his residencies around Dublin and on line ups around the country alike. With an ear for house and disco and some of the best samples around, his set isn’t one to miss on Saturday.
