Waterford artist Alt8 releases two new tracks next wednesday in order to raise money for Irish mental health charity Aware.

As we’re aware, with less events and fundraising opportunities either available, or going ahead due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, charities have come out and said they’re now struggling more than ever. In an effort to continue to support these vital charities, artists and people involved in the music industry have come up with different ways to raise the much needed funds.

Waterford based DJ & Producer has now stepped up to do his bit for the Irish mental health charity Aware. For the price of a pint (€5) you can download his two latest tracks via his Bandcamp. The tracks are being released next Wednesday, however, they’re available to preorder today.

Ahead of this release we spoke to Alt8, or Evan Marshall as some know him to find out his motivation behind this, check out what he had to say.

Last week I was scrolling on my phone and came across Aware.Ie and noticed they were urgently asking for donations.” In these challenging times, people need support more than ever. We urgently need funds to ensure we can continue to offer support to people who need it.” The appeal really got to me. If you haven’t suffered from depression or anxiety then more than likely someone really close to you has at some point. It can be detrimental to people. At the moment we’re living in a time where people who suffer from Depression or Anxiety are finding it extremely difficult and they need support now more than ever.

So, after seeing all this I thought I’d really like to do something to help raise some funds for the appeal. With my new releases coming out this week i thought why not put it on sale for the price of a drink which is €5 and donate all proceeds raised to the charity? Below I’ve left a link to the release on my Bandcamp, Click on it, donate & help me raise some well needed funds for this essential service.

For anyone who’s unsure on what Aware.ie please go check out their website at www.aware.ie. If you’re suffering from depression or anxiety and need support they are there to help you.

We know times are tough for many, but if you can spare €5, we know this is an absolutely deserving and fantastic cause and that your support would be greatly appreciated by us, Evan and of course Aware and the people it helps.
