Bandcamp have solidified themselves as one of our favourite music platforms during the quarantine as they have lifted their fees several times to show support for artists who may be struggling during these times.

This time, the company are waiving their fees in light of the recent events in America which have no doubt shook the world. The music industry has joined together in vocalising their support for POC (People of colour) DJ’s, artists, labels and brands. This week, we’ve seen the power of people coming together and the music community plays a huge role in that.

Many labels and musician have offered to share their time, support and to donate their funds amongst charities, helping those affected by the recent events. Check out the full list of those donating to BLM causes here.

In honour of todays Bandcamp initiative, volunteers have joined forces to create this very useful list of over 1,000 black musicians whose music is available on their platform. The list is a work in progress and being added to all the time so make sure to check out this ever growing list of artists to support via Google Drive here.

This Friday, June 5th, from midnight to midnight Pacific Time, we’re waiving our share of sales to support artists. Below you’ll find a list of artists and labels preparing special releases, including those donating their share to organizations in support of racial justice and change.

Also, we want to remind everyone that on Friday, June 19th, we’ll be donating 100% of our share of sales to the NAACP Legal Defence Fund to support their work. More info here.
