It’s been a while since Boots & Kats last dropped some new music for our enjoyment, but today the duo have released a new Italo disco track, titled ‘Calypso’.

Being in isolation with no clubs, festivals or parties to attend might seem like a strange time to release new music, but life has to go on and new music needs to find homes and be heard, even if right know you’re listening to it at home, or in the garden. New music offers some beauty, excitement, enjoyment, and is a sign of forward progression. The world cannot simply stop and wait for this to all be over.

Boots & Kats rise to the top of the Irish club world was fast, with certain monumental festival moments tipping them into the big leagues, from notorious sunrise sets, to then stepping up to the main stage at Life Festival and Boxed Off. The duo pushed on from a weekly student residency, selling out some of Ireland’s biggest and best venues up and down the country, including hometown District 8 in Dublin on multiple occasions, not to mention curating their very own festival, Yurt City. The duo are also a familiar name on the international circuit, most recently at last years Snowbombing and Hideout festivals, plus debut club shows around the UK, most notably at The Warehouse Project.

The duo’s recent Italo inspired synth-driven release is the perfect tonic for today. You might not be seeing the party starters at a festival or club night in the next few weeks, but this new track is a reminder of what we can look forward to in the not so distant future.

Our new tune ‘Calypso’ is up on SoundCloud and Bandcamp now!

It’s a bit strange to be releasing music at a time like this but we’re still excited nonetheless. This tune was originally made for our last gig in Wigwam, just before this whole thing kicked off in Ireland. So hopefully it gets you excited to get back in da cluurbs with your mates again!

Peas & love x
