Councillors have passed a vote to limit the amount of hotels allowed to be built.

Councilors took to voting last night in a bid to limit the amount of hotels being built in and around the city. Councillors passed the idea to limit the amount of hotels being built.

The meeting takes place after another hotel was granted permission to be constructed in Dublin, that involves a colossal large scale demolition within the heart of the city. The Keily family were granted permission to build an eight-storey, 116 bedroom hotel at George’s Quay on Poolbeg street. One building making way for the project is the Tara Building, a co-working space for various business that will now lose its home for another hotel.

This is the beginning of change within a city that has been laced with gentrification and greed for far too long.
