We’re gearing up for Four Four’s takeover at Otherside Festival at the late-night stage, Beneath The Trees. Ahead of the festival in July we take a closer look at some of the acts playing at the Four Four curated stage including Sunil Sharpe, Yasmin Gardezi, Pagan, Tyvion Valentine, Aeron XTC, Sam Greenwood & EVE.

Sunil Sharpe

Sunil Sharpe has been at the forefront of both the Irish and international techno scene for many years and is the driving force behind the Give Us The Night campaign here in Ireland. Sunil boasts one of the most authoritative resumes in Irish dance music history, notably featuring on Boiler Room three times alongside a host of notable gigs across Berghain, Tresor, Bassiani, Fold, and more. The Irish don has also released music on various high-profile labels including Rave or Die, BPitch Control, On The Hoof, among others.

Yasmin Gardezi

Yasmin has earned herself an incredible array of club shows at home and abroad this year, some of which include appearances to Sub Club in Glasgow, Sneaky Petes in Edinburgh, The Telegraph Building in Belfast as well as The Waldorf in Vancouver and Re:mise in Berlin. Not to mention notable festival slots at Electric Picnic, Life Festival, Emerge, Jika Jika Festival, Fuinneamh Festival, BD Festival and more, where she has demonstrated her captivating sound and style as one of the countries leading DJs.

Pagan

Rossa Doherty better known as Pagan has been one of the standout new talents on the Irish scene within recent years. An impressive scroll of achievements includes playing headline club shows and some of the most prestigious slots on the festival circuit all around the country. Recent mixes on Rinse FM & Bicep’s coveted Feel My Bicep mix series, have cemented Pagan’s name as an impressive selector with a vast knowledge for all things grimey, trancey, and banging.

Tyvion Valentine

Tyvion Valentine has seen a sharp rise in popularity in the Dublin house music scene over the last three years. Boasting releases on Part 4 Recs, Plain Sailing, W&O Street Tracks, Zone Focus, and Plaza as well as earning support slots for some of dance music’s most exciting acts in Mall Grab, X-Club, Skin On Skin, Effy, and salute. Tyvion’s set with Pagan at Otherside will go down as legend, and this year is set to be the same.

Aeron XTC

Shaun Darcy better known as Aeron XTC is one of the most revered techno DJs in the country, with years of experience as a DJ and promoter, his knowledge of Irish dancefloors is second to none. Warming up for Dave Clarke, Fjaak, Karenn, Paula Temple, Regis, and more, Aeron XTC is a master at warming up a room. The Dublin native is also a festival favourite across Ireland, known for his shrewd selections that weave between locked hynotism to ethereal trance bangers.

Sam Greenwood

Sam Greenwood is an integral part of the Irish dance music community and his impact can be felt through various facets of Irish techno through his years as a DJ and promoter. Playing a key role in running Hangar, one of Ireland’s most iconic dance music venues, the iconic Techno & Cans collective, as well as The Building Society Agency, which is one of the first, and leading Irish DJ agencies, which focuses on building the careers of some of Ireland’s best talent. Aside from Sam’s contributions to the scene he has also shared the stage with some of dance musics most plauded acts including Carl Craig, Paul Woolford, Billy Nasty, Radioactive Man, Altern 8, Derek Carter, Kevin Saunderson & many more.

EVE

Dublin’s favourite trio EVE have been commanding prominent sets across Ireland for many years now. Boasting sets for Boiler Room, the Terminus stage at Electric Picnic, All Together Now, Otherside Festival, AVA Festival, and more, their deep knowledge of melody-driven dance music is one of the best in the country. The group blur the lines between house, techno, and trance so eloquently, crafting a unique sound that is suited to both big stage festivals and basement hauts.
