With the summer festival season soon approaching, we take a look at one of the Irish’s crowds most beloved international festivals, Melt. The German festival, located in Ferropolis, looks to make its return after its 2-year hiatus caused by the pandemic from the 9th to 12th of June this year. We compiled a list of the top 10 electronic acts to see at this year’s iteration of the festival.

10: Avalon Emerson

We kick off this list with the magical Avalon Emerson. The American born, Berlin based DJ and producer makes it onto this list due to her unique sound design, coupled with her eclectic DJ sets, meaning that she is a must-see at this years Melt Festival. A truly ethereal journey will no doubt be in store for this performance.

9: Juicy Romance b2b Maruwa

This is the first of several b2b sets that will make an appearance on the lineup. Melt’s lineup this year really didn’t hold back on allowing a series of unique b2bs take place. Juicy Romance and Maruwa together will be no different. Having followed both acts for quite some time now, we’re very excited to see how this comes together. We’ll be expecting lots of breaks and electro for this one.

8: u.r.trax

Next up is French starlet, u.r.trax. The talented producer has found herself releasing on Hector Oaks’ label ‘KAOS’, Nina Kraviz’s ‘Trip’ and Asquith’s ‘Lobster Theremin’ so is firmly cemented as number 8 on the list of acts to see at this years Melt Festival. A no-nonsense approach to techno is apparent here and she is someone who we are eager to see play live, considering how astounding her recorded mixes are. This is a no brainer.

7: Mézigue

Here we have one of the most interesting acts on the list to see at this years Melt Festival, Mézigue. The technique involved in his mixing of vinyl is really unique and the sampling involved in his productions is equally as satisfying. There is a clear inspiration from Daft Punk taken here, though it is done in a much more erratic manner. Not to be missed.

6: DJ Fuckoff b2b Mell G

The second b2b to make an appearance on this list is DJ Fuckoff b2b Mell G. This set will be utterly wild. Ghetto and electro will no doubt be rampant from start to finish between these two ladies taking Europe by storm. Their high energy, booty bass filled performances combined with successful releases like ‘DEATH BY PUSSY’ including them both on Mell’s Juicy Gang Records and DJ Fuckoff’s ‘Club Angels EP’ with Jensen Interceptor is taking dancefloors by storm. This will go off.

5: Overmono (Live)

Placing Overmono in 5th place on this list seems a little off, especially considering it’s a live set too, but it’s a testament to how above and beyond the line-up is this year and how it has provided the perfect blend of experimentation with acts who are lighting up the industry with their incredible releases. Their most recent album ‘Cash Romantic’ is a masterpiece, and one that has been rinsed a lot over the last year. Hearing this at Melt will be memorable to say the least.

4: Sherelle b2b Tim Reaper

This list could have been entirely made up of b2b sets, and for good reason. Sherelle b2b Tim Reaper will be nothing short of footwork, jungle, and drum & bass royalty at this years Melt Festival. Two of the UK’s fastest rising DJ’s holding it down together at Ferropolis will certainly be a contender for performance of the weekend, without a doubt. This will get loose.

3: DJ Heartstring

I feel as though DJ Heartstring have taken Ireland by storm despite not having played here yet. Their euphoric, trance-like productions are hugely popular among everyone who is aware of their productions. Additionally, their Hör set is a regular at many late-night sessions. Looking forward to meeting most of the Irish population attending Melt this year wherever DJ Heartstring ends up playing.

2: D.Dan b2b DJ Tool

D.Dan is without a doubt one of our favorite DJs and producers right now. The fluidity and variety of his selections are nothing short of inspiring. The Mala Junta b2b with DJ Tool may be the set of the weekend. We already have goosebumps thinking about it!

1: Dj Stingray b2b Marcel Dettmann

A b2b between two dance music legends take the number 1 spot on this year’s list of electronic acts to see at this years Melt Festival. DJ Stingray and Marcel Dettman are both as real as they come. This b2b will be historic. The difference in sound and style between Dettmann and Stingray will hopefully make for a flourish of music littered with surprises. This has only happened a handful of times before, so being able to see this live will be truly special and equally as rare. Let’s be having ya!
