It’s getting warmer by the week, meaning things are literally and figuratively heating up as the summer months draw teasingly close. This weekend sees a whole host of international guests dotting the map, with almost every genre getting a healthy seeing to.
Kölsch at District 8
Danish techno craftsman Kolsch is returning to District 8 this Friday night. Joining him on the night will be Findland’s Yotto who has gained the backing of Annie Mac and Pete Tong with his eclectic house and techno style.
Charlotte De Witte at Index
Belgium’s Charlotte De Witte takes over Index, applying fresh nuances to the techno genre releasing on labels like Novamute and Tiga’s Turbo label. Despite being quite fresh on the scene, De Witte has proved herself on both the decks and in the studio. Supporting on the night will be Eavan and Alex Gram.
Saoirse at Pygmalion
Rinse FM’s Saoirse takes on Pygmalion this Friday night along with Aaron Nolan and Josh Green on support. Saoirse’s unpredictable mixing style always makes for an eclectic night and you can expect anything from ambient to house, techno, jazz, garage and plenty of passion from Saoirse herself.
Dr. Rubinstein at Tengu
Dr. Rubinstein makes her Dublin debut at Tengu as part of her hectic touring schedule this summer. All City Records, First Second Label and the Vision Collector boys will be supporting on the night. Known as one of Techno’s newest breakthrough DJs, you can expect her to explore the various of caverns techno as the night progresses.
DJ Deece at Pyg
DJ Deece continues his monthly residency in Pyg with another five hour set down in the vaults. Support on the night comes from Ciara Brady.
Bodikka at Wigwam
Bodikka is back in Wigwam’s basements after his last show there during the Twisted Pepper era four years ago. The atmospheric basement is the perfect location to bask in the varied sounds of one of the most talented producers of this generation.
Shee at Pharmacia
The last Friday of the month means that SweatBox is back at Pharmacia and are dragging local house house honcho Shee with them for a night full of funky tracks, with the SweatBox boys on support.
Yu Su at The Bernard Shaw
All City and Bodytonic return to The Bernard Shaw for a special day to night party. For this edition they’re inviting Yu Su of People’s Potential Unlimited for her Dublin debut along with Jheri Tracks’ Bitflower BB, Pear’s Jio and All City’s Olan, all of whom will be on support. This event is free in and with some of Dublin and abroad’s best electronic talent playing you’d be silly to miss it.
Shlømo at Hangar
Techno & Cans team up with Research to welcome SHLØMO; the Taapion Records owner and Parisian techno DJ, to Hangar this Saturday night. As the last Research party to take place in Hangar, this will be a night full of Berlin-style techno won’t be one to miss.
Toolroom 15 at District 8
Mark Knight will be taking over District 8 as part of their celebratory tour celebrating fifteen years of Toolroom Records. The label head will be bringing high energy house on the night along with deep duo Tube & Berger and Dublin’s Al Gibbs on support.
Bekuz vs Influx at Sugar Nite Club
Jika Jika is continuing their ‘We Are’ series with Bekuz and Influx taking over Sugar Nite club this Saturday night in Derry, with their unique branding of electronic music. Expect anything from House, Techno, Garage, Bass and much more from Gerard O’ Brien, Shay Healey and Ethan.
Charlie Bones & Morgan Buckley
Out To Lunch bring us Charlie Bones of NTS London and Dublin’s own Morgan Buckley for a very tropical sounding night and a whole load of funk and disco down at Tengu.
Shine presents Kölsch and more at The Telegraph Building
Shine in Belfast bring a killer line up the The Telegraph Building in Belfast this Saturday with Kölsch, Artwork, Yotto, Andrew Hill, Schmutz and Daire all taking to the decks on the night.
