Nathan ClareAcclaimed Dublin parties Foxgluv and Honeypot have joined forces in creating ‘Buzz & Bloom’, which is a series of free DJ workshops for beginners and is inspired by their commitment to getting more female, trans and non-binary people into DJing.
This initial workshop will be in four parts, taking place over the course of four weeks. The dates for the workshops will be throughout April on the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th during the afternoon. They have also mentioned that if you are not available this time around, future workshops will be running at a later date which is terrific news.
This workshop is primarily focused on an introduction to DJing. Walking through the fundamentals of mixing, how to use CDJs, a mixer and Rekordbox to prepare music. They state that at the end of the four weeks participants will be able to put their own mix together and prepare their own set. For any female-identifying, trans or non-binary individuals looking to step into a DJ environment as a hobby or simply out of curiosity, it is a brilliant opportunity to learn under such welcoming and experienced DJs JWY, Rhyzine and DJ Baby Tee.
