Dixon has been one of the most well-respected names in house music for nearly two decades now.

His innate ability to connect with crowds and take them on a journey led to the Innervisions head honcho holding the top spot on Resident Advisor’s often tumultuous top 100 DJs list for four years running.

His Innervisions imprint has been one of the leading dance music labels in recent years with it’s unique brand of melodic house garnering the attention of audiences world wide and has acted as a home for a number of artists such as Howling, Âme, Henrik Schwarz and Emmanuel Jal to release music.

The German selector has had a long and impressive career so far which has seen him play at festivals and clubs worldwide as well as making appearances on respected platforms such as Boiler Room and Pete Tong’s Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1.

The people over at Red Bull Music Academy in Berlin were lucky enough to get him down to the academy for one of their infamous ‘RBMA Lectures’ alongside Gerd Janson, where He touches on an array of topics such as the art of DJing, life on the road and his recent involvement in the Grand Theft Auto video game.

With over 50 years combined experience in the industry, the lecture is a good insight into the what goes on behind the scenes in the world of dance music.

Dixon plays District 8 on December 14. Join the event page here and pick up tickets here.
