The legendary Irish DJ and producer Jon Hussey records the latest mix for the Minimal Detroit crew, providing an hour jam packed with tracks from Detroit originators and firm favourites.

Jon Hussey is one of the true pioneers of the Irish techno scene, having been DJing since the early nineties, kick-starting at the infamous Planet Dub night in Dublin. Jon has promoted and resided at countless techno clubs throughout Ireland as well as playing techno havens across the world, including Amsterdam, London, New York, Bratislava, Berlin, Leeds and Turin to name just a few.

To compliment his mix for Minimal Detroit, Jon gave us some words about his mix and his track selection:

“It was a very special honour to be asked to record a mix for the Minimal Detroit crew and it led to me spending some time thinking of the tracks and a theme before recording. The ‘Detroit’ sound and style had to be woven into the mix with Spacey atmospherics, Bleeped out mechanical rhythms, Electro grinds and Heavy broken machine workouts.

The initial mix kicks off a little deeper building into tracks from some true Detroit originators like Anthony Shake Shakir and Robert Hood blending up with newer artists like DeFeKT, Ocktawian, Handmade DJ, Oliver Rosemann and Ritzi Lee who are all advancing on and keeping the original blueprint styles alive. Sending some Techno love, Dublin to Detroit from D to the D”

Big thanks to Jon for sending us his words. Stick his mix on and let it soundtrack your afternoon.
