The house music pioneer makes his long awaited return to Dublin this month on January 24th for District 8 at their new home in Jam Park, Swords.

Garnier has been a staple in house music internationally for over 30 years and has been a regular visit to Ireland in his time, with some iconic shows in Cork venue ‘Sir Henrys’. He is also featured on the soundtrack for Emmet Kirwan’s movie & play ‘Dublin Oldschool’ with his anthem ‘Crispy Bacon’

His musical journey started when he came across Manchester’s legendary club The Haçienda in the mid 80’s and by the late 80’s he had established his name as one of the leaders of the french house movement. Since then, Garnier has been shortlisted for DJ Mag’s ‘best DJ’s of all times’ and has been at the forefront of dance music worldwide with tracks such as ‘The man with a red face’ and ‘Wake up’ holding their place as house music anthems. This special 3 hour set will give him time to explore different aspects of his library and taste that he wouldn’t normally get to when playing here in Ireland.

“By the time I was ten years old my bedroom looked like a nightclub. There were strobes, multi-coloured flashing lights, a disco ball, a DJ booth and a dance floor. When I switched on my equipment hundreds of tiny white lights would flit across my bedroom ceiling and walls. I switched on my disco ball every night. I only dreamt of one thing: making people dance.”
