With a capacity boasting 1400, the venue former venue at the top of Harcourt Street would welcome the biggest DJs on the planet, famously booking both Richie Hawtin & Sven Vath on the same night. Unheard of nowadays right?
The legendary names of Carl Cox, Dave Clarke, Stacey Pullen, Sven Vath, Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Fergie, Vitalic, Deadmau5, Carl Craig, Loco Dice, Matador and Green Velvet would all be frequent visitors to the famous main room, which also welcomed live performances from Underworld, LCD Soundsystem, Battles, Gary Newman. The list honestly just does go on and on.
After a quick search looking for the Richie Hawtin & Sven Vath artwork, we’ve stumbled upon this excellent and potenially fairly rare live recording of Green Velvet live from Tripod, from back in 2011. Green Velvet, Fergie and LRB complete the lineup.
Throughout this recording you can hear the whistles from the crowds, as Green Velvet treats us to some of his golden back catalogue and famous samples, plus one or two now classics. Stick this one on.
