Alan Fitzpatrick’s latest protege Modeā, steps up to deliver WATB055. The young Irish producer made his debut on the We Are The Brave earlier this year on the label’s second compilation album. Modeā returns with his ‘Silence’ EP, consisting of four hefty cuts guaranteed to turn some heads in the scene.
‘Silence’ bursts into life from the opening bar. Insistent percussion drives the track as a waspy synth increases with menace. Melodics add texture and are teased away at the drop where the low end might takes control. The main break provides epic moments and powerful sonic imagery.
‘Chosen’ opens more subdued but no less powerfully. Wispy FX and vocal ad libs float high above as the main melodic motifs establish their dark intent ramping up the energy. Again, it’s the main break where all the drama unfolds powering to the finish at a Usain Bolt sprint.
‘Concentrate’ opens with warehouse drums in full flow. Energetic sonics provide a counterpoint before the low end rumble takes effect. More industrial than the previous two, this is a pure and simple heads down 3am stomp with style and sophistication.
‘Body Language’ opens with a huge kick drum before melodics and percussion add weight and direction. Growing in menace over time the resultant whole is a dark, galloping masterclass in modern Techno. Trancey leads lines in the break usher in a new energy for the final hoorah.
