Sam GreenwoodWe’re big fans of REES, so much so that he’s our favourite thing to come out of Middlesbrough since the legendary Brazilian footballer Juninho graced North Yorkshire, way back in the 90’s.
Not only is REES an excellent DJ and producer, but he’s a very likable character with an excellent taste in music, so hearing the news that he’s recorded the latest contribution to the mighty BICEP mixtape series makes us very happy, plus eager to listen to this on repeat all week.
REES‘ music is inspired by the dance floor, but moulded on his experiences, with his eclectic selection of music, he’s often heard moving swiftly between everything from Italo, Afro-Synth and Disco to late 80s House, Techno and Electro. His short career has already earned him many plaudits with a US tour, Redlight Radio show, Boiler Room and a run of headline shows already under his belt. On top of this, his talent behind a set of decks has seen him become a regular at Ape-X, the leading club brand in the North of England and he regularly supports the likes of Dan Shake, Tom Trago and other names across Newcastle.
