Sam GreenwoodDJ Moonbeam has racked up a number of impressive releases over the last year, putting out tracks with the likes of Crow Castle Cuts and Standalone Records. It was announced the other day that the Irish DJ/Producer’s next EP release will be with the respected house label, SITU Records.
The ‘Apus De Soare’ EP consists of four dance-floor ready tracks. The opening tune leans more on the minimal side of things before moving on to the second track, a deep house jam with warm pads and textured chords. The third track is the one that stands out most to me. A pumping house groove with a deep pulsating bassline and serrated chord stabs that would sound right at home on a Detroit techno track. The final track on the B-side is a no frills floor filler, just raw drums and percussion with sporadic vocal samples that keep the track moving.
