A sun-drenched piano-house cut that instantly transports the listener to better times and outdoor summer festivals, ’Never’ is the perfect ‘big moment’ track which showcases the uplifting Italo house sound that Theo Kottis has become famous for playing.
Inspired by hearing a DJ Harvey set last year, Theo Kottis tested an earlier version in his own sets, then stripped it back and replayed all the drums into a new Italo style and instantly knew that he was onto a winner.
In Theo Kottis’s words: “The past 3 months have been weird. Really f*cking weird. No partying. No socialising. No nothing. Nothing… except comfort food and Strava. It seems the whole world has opted for the most isolated sport there is during the lockdown, with running reigning supreme as the sweat inducing sport of choice for the rule-following citizens of the world. We want to subtly nod to this pretty odd and unprecedented period in history with some frankly bizarre visuals that highlight two of the world’s favourite past-times.
Theo has also produced this brilliant video to accompany the release, which perfectly sums up the previous 3+ months for many people who have been “running to eat and eating to run”.
