Index and Subject team up to bring over techno heavyweight Paula Temple on Friday the 22nd of July, with Four Four Magazine also taking care of Room 2’s antics for the night. A gig of this calibre doesn’t come around too often, so be sure to act accordingly when it does.
Paula Temple needs little to no introduction having cemented herself as one of the industries finest techno DJs and producers over the course of the last decade. During this time she has been recognised for her dark and sinister sounding approach to her productions, which of course is apparent in her mixing, providing a tough, gritty, no nonsense approach which is what makes Paula Temple so incredibly unique and captivating.
We chose her top 5 mixes ahead of her headline Index show. Get excited.
5: Paula Temple at Time Warp 2018
We kick off this list with Paula Temple at the 2018 edition of Time Warp where we are provided with a stellar performance. The production and scale of this set coupled with Temple’s impeccable mixing skills slots this mix in at the 5th spot. It’s not only great listening, the video is really slick as its recorded in high resolution too.
4: Paula Temple at Katharsis 2018
Just shy of 2 hours post-death experience is right. Paula describes this set perfectly from Katharsis back in 2018. This recording is superb. From the intro straight on through to the end. Dark and sinister, just how we like it.
3: Rebekah and Paula Temple at Awakenings ADE
This special b2b firmly takes the 3rd spot on this list. This entry is quite different from the other Paula Temple sets in this list. Initially because of it being a b2b with the fantastic Rebekah, but also since they both attempted to record this set with the idea of it being a ‘full power rave’ set. They did this in a terrific manner, as the sound of this recording does differ quite a bit from the other entries on this list. Variety is the spice of life!
2: Paula Temple at Berghain 13th July 2013
2nd spot is taken by a recording of Paula Temple at Berghain, almost 9 years ago. This set is crazy, but equally as fantastic as you might have imagined. Knowing that this set was played inside the walls of Berghain makes it all the more special. Envisioning the crowd getting lost in Paula’s selections and sleek transitions is reason enough to solidify this mix in 2nd place.
1: Paula Temple Essential Mix 2019
First place on this list of Paula Temple mixes is her 2019 entry to BBC Radio One’s Essential Mix series. This mix takes the number one spot as Paula does a brilliant job at fusing the old with the new throughout this 2 hour journey. Showcasing her depth of knowledge in a truly incredible way, in such a well thought-out manner is so satisfying to listen to. You will not be disappointed. Stick this on.
