The next entry to the Local Selection Mix Series welcomes Kildare-based DJ and producer Cian Fox. For this installment, Cian provides us with an hour of no nonsense techno. Ranging right across the spectrum from stripped back to driving cuts within the genre.
Cian Fox has begun to spark attention among the local and international dance scenes in recent years, with the 20 year old earning a slot on the acclaimed live-streaming platform Pattern Berlin, while garnering support slots for Dylan Fogarty, Jon10 and Puzzy Wrangler within a relatively short period. This success has led him to play for some exciting local parties such as The Shed Residents, Crush and Oblivion.
These opportunities without a doubt, are linked to Cian’s fine discography that he has built. Releasing multiple EPs on his SoundCloud, along with releases on Blurr, Fast Dogs and U-Traxx, has allowed him to express his vision for techno, while connecting with like-minded listeners. In particular, he has received notable support from Reformist and Remco Beekwilder, who has given his productions the seal of approval from playing at various gigs and radio shows.
This mix further outlines his idea of techno, one that is rooted in the past that also takes aim at the future. Elegantly curated and mixed, this is an exceptional recording for any avid techno connoisseur. Even more so for an artist who is at the beginning of what could very well be a long and exciting journey in dance music.
