This week’s Mix of the Week goes to Irish-born, Berlin-based DJ Byron Yeates as part of the Bassiani invites podcast series. The Radiant Records label boss breezes through an array of fierce breaks and pleasing melodies accompanied by Yeates’ sleek technique throughout.

Byron Yeates sweeps up this week’s installment of Mix of the Week with a fascinating blend of tracks hotly mixed for Tbilisi-based party Bassiani as he makes the 164th entry to their esteemed podcast series his own. This shortly follows on from a tremendous headline show in Tengu earlier this month where he was joined by one of Ireland’s fastest-rising DJs Síofra, alongside Solace Space residents Fhionn and Cashper which made for a truly remarkable evening.

Yeates has been kept quite busy of late, holding down residencies with the ever-important community radio station that is Refuge Worldwide and more recently La noche, which will be taking place at OHM and is part of the globally recognised Tresor family. Not to mention a busy schedule that has seen him behind the booth of Berghain’s Panorama Bar, London’s Fold, and Amsterdam’s Shelter with an Indian tour imminent and rightly so.

This mix is a brilliant showcase of one’s creative musical journey through the medium of DJing. Touching on a range of genres that burst with euphoria, introspection, and genuine delight. Byron Yeates threads the needle ever so eloquently, leaving you with a stunning display of his deep understanding and appreciation for dance music.
