For this week’s Mix Of The Week, we have Rhyzine’s appearance on The Lot Radio based in New York City. Sifting eloquently through a selection of progressive house, breaks, bass and more over the hour, the Dublin-based DJ and Honeypot co-founder leaves little to be desired in this terrific showcase.

Rhyzine’s rise as a formidable DJ and promoter within Dublin and beyond since she started just shy of 2 years ago is truly inspiring. During this short period of time she has played at esteemed parties like Rathaus, The Midnight Disco, Club Comfort, Skin & Blister, Thrust, Human Error and so on. Accumulating support slots for some fabulous artists in Avalon Emerson, Shampain, Youandewan, Ellkka, and Moktar in the process. Combine this with an impressive showcase at Mother’s Pride Block Party with Bull Horris as well as outings to Galway’s Róisin Dubh and Limerick’s Pharmacia. All while picking up numerous Izakaya appearances both as a solo artist and alongside Lúnasa (with an added Rinse FM debut for good measure).

All of these accolades seem to only scratch the surface when realising that Rhyzine is also the co-founder of one of Dublin’s most exciting queer parties ‘Honeypot’, which is a club night and community primarily catering for gay girls and friends. Having enjoyed immense success thus far they have used the platform they’ve created to champion a range of female, queer, trans and nonbinary artists by means of their Sticky Mix Series and their recent ‘Emerge’ DJ call-out event in conjunction with Yamamori Tengu. The final Honeypot of the year will take place on December 22nd in Tengu where Rhyzine will open proceedings for the illustrious D.Tiffany, which will undoubtedly be one of the biggest parties of the festive season.

This entry to Mix Of The Week sees Rhyzine’s Lot Radio recording taking the top spot, as she glides seamlessly through a range of compelling dance music tracks over the course of the hour. Traversing through a range of gleaming house cuts, as well as some euphoria-tipped breakbeat and bellowing bassline selections that make for a dreamy listen from start to finish. Your soundtrack for the weekend is sorted!
