We kick off a series of Four Four takeover parties in Cellar this Friday night as we curate the first of our monthly parties, continuing the venues and our believes, of backing local talent week in week out.

Since Cellar first opened its doors back in February of this year, the venue have stood firm and supported the local Dublin scene as they set out and promised to do, leaving the international DJs and live acts to rest, so they can concentrate on the effervescent house and techno scene we have here in Dublin. Spearheaded by our own director Sam Greenwood and the EVE collective, they have backed local and throw 35 parties of homegrown talent, which is testament just how many great DJs and producers there are in our city.

Now, we step up to the venue, brining our musical tastes, styles and local knowledge to Cellar, as we curate a monthly party, starting with this coming Friday night, as we welcome one of the cities and countries brights prospects, Pagan to the venue.

Cellar is small, dark and incredibly intimate space, boasting a perfect sound system for the venue and dance floor. You won’t find a fancy lighting rig down in Cellar, but a dim red glow from behind the DJ booth, setting the tone and feel for a connection you simply don’t and won’t find in any other of the cities venues. The venues strict no phone or camera policy keeps the atmosphere at the best possible place from doors open to close. The energy is second to none with DJs and crowd on the same level, theirs a raw vigour that runs through the basement every Friday and Saturday.

To start off our monthly residency at Cellar we’ve invited a strong lineup of some of our favourite DJs in the country. Headlining the night is Lobster Theremin golden boy, Pagan. If you’re unaware of Pagan, you’ve probably been under some sort of rock, as the Donegal native has been smashing it up and down the country, from festivals, sold out clubs shows, international show’s and a multitude of well regarded releases. Fresh off the back of a massive Life Festival set and a Feel My Bicep Mixtape, Pagan will be exuding trance energy in the Cellar this Friday.

Speaking of trance… Mercornn will warm the room up for Pagan, fresh off the back of a pinnacle performance at Beyond The Pale Festival. Mercornn has been one of the stand-out newcomers within the Dublin scene in 2022. Mercornn’s distinct trance infused style has been captivating dance-floor’s all around Dublin, making her one of the most in demand DJs in Dublin right now.

Karmag kicks off the night, and we couldn’t think of a more equipped selector to warm up the room. The DDR resident has a massive knowledge of music, moving from tribal rhythms, to bass heavy growlers, to squelchy electro cuts. Karmag has a broad spanning sound, that has been lighting up dance-floor’s to beat the band. Get down early for some bass heavy music education.

Tickets for Friday’s party are 10 Euro all night long at the door. Doors are 11.30, so get down early as the basement fills up quick.
