MIDWEEK have announced a listening party ahead of their debut album titled ‘What You Don’t Know’. Scheduled to take place on October 1st at the Record Room on Catherine Street in Limerick. Followed by an afterparty featuring a very special guest, Brawni and Silky Klub with admission set as a donation/pay what you want basis.

MIDWEEK, comprising of Chaz Moloney & SHEE have been at the forefront of Limericks underground dance scene for the past 7 years. The duo initially cut their teeth by throwing free parties in Limerick which ultimately led to the formation of “Touch Of Techno” (TOT).

Touch Of Techno now operates a monthly party that spans 3 rooms and holds as many as 700 people. Having access to such a unique and lucrative setup TOT are able to dive into every corner and sub genre of dance music. Allowing them the opportunity to expose the population of Limerick to a all round club experience with diverse programming being put in place for each party.

On October 1st, Midweek will showcase their debut album in Limerick’s Record Room. When asked about this body of work that they have produced they said;

‘We started this album in January when the two of us went to the remote Valentia Island in Kerry and set up a makeshift studio to spend a week writing. We have made it a yearly pilgrimage now to go to Valentia in January when there’s no tourists around and hang out together and just make tunes with no boundaries over the course of the week.

This album really sums up the four corners of the Midweek project/sound and spans from ambient breaks to pumping acid house. We designed the album to be listened to as one piece of music. We feel the art of the album is dwindling. Since that is the case, we have made a lot of effort for this to be one coherent piece of music that makes sense from start to finish.

We’ve been spending the last few months mixing down the tracks and now finally we are starting to see a finished product that is so close to being finished. We want to gather our friends and fans in Limerick and spend a night with everyone, to give them a chance to hear the project from start to finish accompanied by the glorious visuals of our friend Walt.’

There is absolutely no doubt that this will be a fantastic evening filled with amazing tunes and even better people if you’re around the area to check it out. What more could you ask for!
