Just like last year’s St Patrick’s Day, this year will be very much the same, as we continue to lockdown and social distance safely till it is safe to dance again. However, this doesn’t mean we can’t have fun and listen to excellent music.

Cork party series, label and general sound heads, Prospekt have today announced a 12 hour live stream on St Patrick’s Day, inviting a whole host of Irish DJs [Plus a Welshman, myself] to contribute an hour of music for their excellent charity driven event, supporting Mental Health Ireland.

As we approach a whole year since the events industry came to a halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the crew were keen to create a virtual gathering in an online format, which this 12 hour live stream does nicely. You can keep updated with the whole lead up and information via the event page here.

The team rightly felt how challenging this year has been on so many, stressing the importance of promoting mental health at a time like this, d shining a light on the subject.

Our chosen charity is Mental Health Ireland who are the longest established mental health charity in Ireland and have played a key role in reshaping how the public understand mental health issues. Since 1966, they have been front and centre in promoting positive mental health, supporting people with lived experience of mental health challenges in their recovery and bringing practical expression to national policy objectives.

Since our launch in late 2017, our main vision and goal has been to create a platform to promote Irish artists and support the local scene above booking big international names and to stay within our roots, we have curated a mixed line up featuring a selection of artists who have previously played for the collective and contributed to the platform, those that were booked to play at upcoming shows pre-pandemic and a selection of new faces and longtime friends of Prospekt.

Check out the lineup and poster below, as the team invites 12 techno heavy hitters to help celebrate St Patrick’s Day from the safety of your own home, while raising some funds for a good cause.

You will be able to watch the stream from the comfort of your own home through the Facebook Live and YouTube platforms. To note, all the artists involved will be playing from their home studios in Ireland and Berlin from 1PM-1AM (GMT) and will be adhering to the current government guidelines and restrictions set in place.

They have set up a fundraising campaign on Just Giving where all donations will go directly to Mental Health Ireland. All support is very much appreciated and if you wish to donate the price of a drink or whatever you can afford, you do so through the following link here
