More Irish music being released today, as we feature an ambient and soothing track which oozes positivity and new beginnings from Ciarán McCarthy, a producer based in Swords, Co. Dublin.

Influenced by the work of artists such as Brian Eno, Steve Reich, William Basinski, Floating Points and Aphex Twin, Ciarán McCarthy announces his new track ‘Light’ this afternoon, from his forthcoming Ambilify EP.

Ciarán spoke about his music and influence: Music has always been my outlet, and throughout what has been the most difficult chapter of my life yet, attempting to soundscape the feelings, emotions and fears I’ve experienced has provided great solace. Releasing the EP is purely intended as an act of catharsis, a way of embracing and celebrating the uncertainty of what comes next.  Chronologically sequenced, Ambilify is essentially a selection of sonic journal entries dating from March 2020. (Light) attempts to capture the feeling of things beginning to look up as a difficult time hopefully comes to an end.
