HotHouse Label co-founder Dave Kerr has shared his latest single ‘Got Wood’ as the fifth release on the esteemed Irish imprint. Encompassing a deep, soulful and sensual sound this release echoes everything that HotHouse stands for, which is providing accessible underground music to everyone.

HotHouse Label is an Irish record label that has been steadily establishing itself over the past few years across the Dublin music scene, with artists such as PrYmary Colours, Lucas, Nitetales and more releasing on the imprint. The focus has always centred around bringing accessible underground music to the people through its own releases, as well as stellar gigs, events and festival shows. All while incorporating and creating a sincere community aspect of the label’s success, one which strives to create safe spaces where everyone is welcome.

Dave Kerr has been lighting up dance floors at home and abroad with his DJ sets this year including some high-profile sets in venues such as Tunnel Club in Birmingham, Centre Point in Dublin with The Love Ball (which returns this Saturday, November 18th alongside a stellar local lineup and is not to be missed), as well as the illustrious Fuinneamh Festival at Bellurgan Park as part of the HotHouse Label takeover show. His productions always offer something unique, experimenting with deep and soulful journeys in sound, and this one is no different.

Got Wood is a hypnotic tribal house track, that focuses on wooden percussion elements alongside an uplifting synth lead. The breakdown is stripped back, relying on the energy of the woods to infect the soul, taking us back to one’s tribal roots. The tongue-in-cheek title fuses with the elements of the composition, tying in with its overall meaning. Got Wood acts as a statement. It is based on the idea of being proud of who we are, owning ourselves, and sharing positivity and light in a sometimes darker world.
